Clavichord Voicing
Most clavichords have two strings per note, and the top of the tangent should contact both strings simultaneously for the cleanest tone. Voicing a clavichord is therefore accomplished by filing the tangents to achieve this clean contact. Beyond this, the basic tone of a clavichord cannot be much altered by work done on the tangents, but is an innate characteristic of the structure of the instrument and how it is strung.
