Requesting Harpsichord Work
The following are some signs that your harpsichord may be in need of service:
- The touch is too heavy or too light
- The notes are of uneven volume playing up the scale
- Strings continue to sound after releasing a note
- The keys barely go down far enough for notes to play
- Notes do not sound when played
- Repetition is poor or inconsistent
- Tone is too loud, too soft, or simply unpleasant
- Registers are difficult to turn on or off
- After turning on a register, is seems reluctant to stay on
If you notice any of these problems, contact me and we can arrange an appointment. Upon examination of your harpsichord, I will be able to provide an estimate for recommended work.
