Harpsichord Repairs

Common minor harpsichord repairs include replacing broken strings, replacing plectra, replacing broken tongues (especially in instruments with plastic jacks), freeing bound registers, tightening loose stop levers, and easing keys. Repairs like these can be easily accomplished on-site. More major repairs often have to do with the distortion of the instrument by the string tension. The hitch pin rail can often pull away from the case sides, for example, or the wrest plank that anchors the tuning pins can be pulled out of its position.
